More To Come
by George Pappas

(March 1999)/ The Malet Street Gazette emerged on the Internet about three months ago, and already, I am pleased to say, the response has been excellent. Students and graduates have paid a visit to this site and have expressed a strong desire to see more material about the issues discussed. As you can see, the discussion forum is also starting to pick up in activity, and this is exactly what I wanted to see. The discussion forum is an important part of this web site, this is where you can make contacts, post questions (always feel free to post a question!), raise an issue, or whatever. The Legal Resource Center is also starting to grow, and with time, I hope to see this section add material that will help you in your studies, and with your career. So keep those cards and letters coming.

As for some news, well, I am pleased to report, that in the United States, states such as Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina have written to me expressly confirming that an LL.M from a US ABA approved law school meets their educational requirements for their respective Bar Examinations. In fact, Tennessee will let you take the Bar Examination first, and after your results are confirmed, they will advise you if you need further tuition. What this confirms is that you can earn your LL.B. under the external program from the University of London, and with only another year or so to earn your LL.M., meet the educational requirement for these states. Check out the Legal Resource Center for additional states that recognize LL.B. graduates under the external program to enter bar examinations.

Finally, look for our new Bookstore on this site. For those of you who want to sell or buy used law books, a new section will soon be posted to facilitate such a service.
